Highways Department says that repairs to the landslide on Pak Tam Road, Sai Kung have been completed

Last Tuesday (5/8), a landslide occurred on Pak Tam Road, Sai Kung near the Civil Aid Service Tai Tam Training Camp due to the heavy rain. Traffic was temporarily switched to one-lane, two-way traffic for emergency slope repairs. The Highways Department has announced that the relevant works have been completed and the road was fully reopened to traffic at 8:00 pm last night (9/8), resuming two-lane, two-way traffic.

HD expressed its gratitude to the contractor, frontline workers and department colleagues for their joint efforts in completing the slope restoration works in just a few days, enabling the affected road sections to be quickly and fully reopened.

From 29 July to 5 August, the Observatory issued a Black Rainstorm Warning four times within a week. As of 5:30 pm on 5 August, the Geotechnical Engineering Office received a total of 18 landslide reports involving Sai Kung, Tai Po, Kwai Chung and other areas.
