Garage Sales and Markets at the University of Science and Technology remain popular with those who have an entrepreneurial spirit or an eye for a bargain. This month there will be two, on Saturday, 20 October and one the following week on 27 October. Both will be held under cover from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm with almost 200 tables in LG3 Car Park at the university. Entrance is free with parking and food available.
Organiser Jean Hudson said, “Access by public transport is easy. There is something for everyone whatever their age. Everyone is welcome to join the fun and find some great shopping bargains.
“Every Garage Sale is different because of the huge variety of vendors on each occasion which makes each one more exciting,” Jean said. “There will be lots of commercial stalls with new and interesting items as well as secondhand stalls selling pre-owned and often much loved goods. Supporting the 5R’s with Re-cycling, Re-ducing , Re-placing, Re-using and Re-thinking helps the community in every way.” A small charge is made for hiring a table and the proceeds are donated to charities supported by the Garage Sale.
A few tables are still available for 27 October but all tables have been reserved for 20 October. It is necessary to reserve a table in advance. An application form and more information from gujean@ust.hk.
