A 60-year-old man walking near Tai Kam Chung, on Stage 3 of the Maclehose Trail, with four other men and three women, lost his footing and fell between 20 – 30 m down the hillside. He was rescued by Government Flying Service helicopter around 1:30 pm and taken to hospital with a leg fracture and head wounds.
The group set off from Sai Kung around 9:00 am. Emergency services were initially contacted around 12:20 pm.
