Early this morning, around 2:00 am, residents of the HKUST graduate students’ dorm at No. 1 University Road, Sai Kung, reported a gas leak. About 100 students voluntarily evacuated to a safe place. Police and fire services were contacted and sent appliances to check out the situation.
After investigation, it was confirmed that there was no gas leakage; it was a false alarm. No one was injured in the incident.
