Just after midnight this morning a private car travelling along Clear Water Bay Road towards Sai Kung ended up a wreck after the driver lost control.
The car was approaching Tseng Lan Shue when, so the driver claimed, it swerved to avoid another car, hit a drain cover, ran over the pavement, and continued to mount the roadside slope. According to witnesses, the right side of the car was cut open “like a can”. The right hand door and front wheel flew off. Blood was seen around the inside of the car. A passing driver called the police.
According to witnesses, when the police arrived, there was no one in the car and no injured persons were seen in the vicinity. Later a 23-year-old man claimed to be the driver, and was accompanied by two male friends, but they claimed that no-one was injured. The police are investigating the incident.
