A 90-year-old man in Nam Wai, Sai Kung, left his home yesterday (17 May) afternoon, and did not return. The family called for help and the police could not find him. Around 1:00 pm this afternoon more than 30 people joined the police mobile units to expand the search. A man was found lying on the ground about 200 m from the old man’s apartment. He was confirmed dead at the scene.
The police believe that the deceased was the missing old man. When they contacted his family they confirmed his identity. Initial investigation has led the police to not rule out that the old man fell to the river and lost his life. The cause of death was is to be determined. Fire services helped move the body of the deceased and then transport it to the mortuary.
