Here is this week’s update on planned protests in Hong Kong. Not all of these may take place, but those for the next seven days are fairly certain. Also, owing to the fluid nature of the protests, many other events may happen at short notice that are not included here.
Planned activities seem to be getting less frequent, but spontaneous protests or flash mobs, usually restricted to smaller geographic areas, seem to be increasing. We are not informed of these days in advance.
26 September onwards: 1:00 – 7:00 pm. “The Art of Resistance” Exhibition. Kong Art Space, G/F, 3 Staunton St, Central, Hong Kong.
18 October: 8:00 – 11:30 pm. 18 Districts Masked Human Chain (Joining Hands with You 2.0). Stations along MTR Tsuen Wan Line, Kwun Tong Line, Island Line and East Rail Line.
18 October: 5:00 pm. Anti-police violence rally. Sun Yat Sen Place, HKU.
19 October: 7:30 – 9:00 pm. International Humanitarian Aid Prayers. Victoria Park.
20 October: 1:30 – 7:30 pm. Abolish Anti-mask Law, Setup Independent Commission of Inquiry, and Rebuild Hong Kong Police Force Rally. Salisbury Garden to West Kowloon Station. (Notice of no objection rejected).
21 October: 7:00 – 11:00 pm. Silent sit-in for 21 July Yuen Long attack. Yuen Long Station.
26 October: from 1:00 pm. Anti-white-terror and anti-totalitarianism assembly. Tamar Park.
31 October: 7:00 – 11:00 pm. Never forget 31 August terrorist attack. (We need the truth of 31 August event). Prince Edward Station.
31 October: 7:15 – 10:00 pm. Masquerade Halloween Rally. Victoria Park to Lan Kwai Fong.
Note: The student strikes/demonstrations at secondary and tertiary education institutions which started on Monday 2 September will continue, as will other continuing actions by various groups which we have not highlighted here.
