Two men were arrested outside Springfield Villas, in Chuk Yeung Road near Lung Mei Villag, Sai Kung on the evening of 13 October. Their bags and rucksacks were searched and found to contain hydraulic cutters, screwdrivers, face-masks and workmens’ gloves

Police were alerted to the scene by a resident who heard a loud bang from outside the house around 9:00 pm. The Rural Patrol Sub-unit and Patrol Sub-unit of Sai Kung Police Station responded  and successfully intercepted two males (later as arrested persons “AP” ). They were mainland Two-way Permit holders and could not provide a reasonable explanation of why the items were with them at that time.

They were arrested and charged with the offence of “Going Equipped for Stealing” and have been sent to Court. The case is being followed up by the crime team of Wong Tai Sin District. There have been a number of burglaries in the Sai Kung district over the past few weeks. It is to be determined whether these APs are involved.
