Yesterday afternoon (15/12) a 30-year-old man was injured after he jumped of a cliff near Ham Tin into the waters of Tai Wan.
The accident occurred around 4:00 pm when a man surnamed Li and a friend walked to the top of the cliffs. Li jumped into the sea and was seen swimming, but when he stopped moving his companion jumped in to to rescue him. He was found to be in a coma and his colleagues immediately called the police for help.
A Government Flying Service team immediately dispatched a helicopter to the scene and Li was airlifted to the Eastern Hospital for rescue. Fortunately, he returned to consciousness after being treated at the hospital. Initial investigations by the police indicate that the incident was not suspicious and that the case is listed as an accident.
