A four vehicle pile-up blocked Hiram’s Highway near Pak Kong at lunch time today. The serial collision involved a 101M green minibus, two private cars and one commercial vehicle.

Police report that the four vehicles were travelling in the direction of Sai Kung town centre. A 101M minibus was en route from  Hang Hau Station to Sai Kung when it  was hit from behind by the first of the private cars; a second car ploughed into the rear of first car, which itself was then hit from behind by the van.  The driver of the van reported a pain in his foot and needed to be sent to hospital for treatment.

Police arrived at the scene soon afterwards and closed the road for 30 minutes; traffic was severely congested. Police conducted an alcohol breath test for the drivers of the vehicles but they did not exceed the limit. Police are investigating causes of the collision.
