Local Sai Kung broadcasting star, Sadie Kaye, is back on the air with a new series of programmes on RTHK Radio 3. After months of protests and coronavirus shaped delays, getting to the studio and coaxing others to join her was difficult. Sadie’s Mental Ideas Podcast starts broadcasting on RTHK Radio 3 today (2 April) after the lunchtime News on the 123 Show for the next 12 weeks before breaking for the summer (presuming everyone’s allowed to leave their homes by then!!) After each episode airs, the podcasts will be uploaded to the RTHK website, Miss Adventure website and Mental Ideas website, as well as all the usual podcast places (Apple, Spotify etc.)
Guests include showman Mat Ricardo, Nollywood superstar Dan Davies, psychopathic actor and entrepreneur Philippe Joly, BIFA-nominated filmmaker Raffaello Degruttola, award-winning cartoonist and author Larry Feign, author and photo journalist Christina Yung, virtual dance-maker Eugenia Kim and Jackie Chan (no, not that one). The music is composed by Nick Samuel.

In other news from Sadie, the film she co-produced last year with Contro Vento Films, ‘Transference: A Bipolar Love Story’ was shortlisted last month to the competition stage of the New York Socially Relevant Film Festival, among four other films (including films by Oscar winners!) The screening of the film at the festival was to be the world premiere on 2 March, but for obvious reasons it was delayed until September.
Since then the film has been selected for two more festivals, the Arizona International Film Festival and the Buenos Aires International Film Festival (both also postponed).

In October 2019 Sadie was awarded International Broadcaster of The Year by the National Independent Film Association (NIFA) – see photo. She was also invited to present an award at the 2020 NIFA Awards in Wisconsin, USA – supposed to happen in May but she can’t see that happening at the moment!
