31-year-old man pushed into sea by Sai Kung Pier and robbed of $7,000 mobile phone

A 31-year-old man was pushed into the sea after his mobile phone was snatched last night in Sai Kung. He was bruised and scratched on rocks while climbing back up on his own. The victim who lost his mobile phone used the smart watch on his wrist to call the police for help.

At about 11 o’clock last night (22/8), the man was by the pier near Fuk Man Street when he was pushed in the back and robbed of a mobile phone worth $7,000. The victim fell into the sea while fighting the thief. The thief escaped without a trace. Passers-by assisted the man into an ambulance.

The victim was sent to hospital with his family. Initial investigation by the police revealed that the case was a robbery and was handed over to the third team of the Wong Tai Sin Police District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up. No one has been arrested yet.
