One dead, one injured in Tai Cham Koi accidents

Tai Cham Koi in Sai Kung East Country Park is famous for its bell-flowers that bloom extensively this time of year. The 400 m high mountain becomes a magnet for hikers. Today (4/2) there were two accidents, one of which was fatal.

The first occurred at 9;00 am when a 51-year-old woman fainted while climbing the mountain trail and suffered a head injury when she fell. The Government Flying Service took her to Eastern District Hospital, but she was dead on arrival. Police are investigating the incident.

Later this morning at 11 o’clock in the morning, another woman suddenly felt unwell on the way from Sai Kung to Tai Cham Koi. She called the police for help and was sent to hospital by rescuers.
