
The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed that an HKUST staff member met with a mainland Chinese colleague and has since tested positive for Covid-19.
The HKUST staff met with a 28-year-old colleague who came to Hong Kong from Shenzhen via the Easy Return Plan on the 16 February. The mainlander was diagnosed with Covid-19 the day after arriving in Shanghai on the 27 February. The staff member lives in Block 7 of the senior faculty quarters, and dined at UniBistro and Bar at the University, as well as the Hong Kee Congee in Metro City Centre Phase 3 on 27 February. In addition, he visited Hang Hau East Point City on 28 February. He was confirmed as being positive with Covid-19 on 2 March.
CHP says that anyone anyone who has been in the specified places for more than two hours between 17 February and 2 March 2, must be tested on or before 4 March.
