A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Over the past several months, our frontline colleagues have been disturbed and threatened by our competitors, along with “self-claimed” members of a triad society, on multiple occasions at different locations. We thought that we had resolved these conflicts in a civilised manner with rational solutions. This was not because we were afraid to confront these uncomfortable conflicts. Instead, we believe in coexisting and healthy competition which will only benefit our customers – it is better to seek common ground and to provide better services to customers together rather than try to exterminate each other by all means.

We are working in a healthy and positive industry after all – an industry that helps people to live a healthy life and educating people to love and protect our ocean. We are a business surrounded with fun, love, and happiness.

But today, we are very upset and infuriated.

When our colleagues arrived at our Sha Ha Beach Centre in the morning, ready to perform our daily morning equipment check-up they found that our two club boats anchored by the bay were cut loose. One was found approximately 150 m away, stuck between the rocks, and the other was found an hour later, drifting one kilometre away near the Sai Kung Marine Police Station. Ropes used to secure the two boats were cut intentionally.

Furthermore, a total of 40 kayaks were chiselled and sawn through maliciously. All my colleagues are feeling extremely upset and we feel deeply disgusted by these cowardly acts.

We’ve been serving the Sai Kung community since 2001 and this is our 20th year in the neighbourhood. We are proud to have the opportunity to serve, and loved very second of it. But today, we don’t know how to express our disappointment to such hostile behaviours we encountered.

Whoever is responsible for these malicious acts, which is clearly criminal damage and criminal intimidation, your crime was premeditated, organised, and executed elaborately. We have reported the incident to the police and have also called out the neighbourhood watch. This is 2021 and your acts are disgusting and unacceptable in our civilised society.

Despite what happened, we will be strong, we will stand tall, because we love our community – we will continue to do what we love with passion. Blue Sky will continue to provide the best services to our customers with integrity and professionalism. Our community has supported us for so long and we will not let you down, especially now.
