Motorcycle in head-on collision with car on Clear Water Bay Road; driver in coma

A motorcyclist was in hospital last night (16/8) after his motorbike was in a head-on collision with a car on Clear Water Bay Road near Hang Hau Wing Lung Road.

The motorcyclist is suspected of losing control as he drove round a bend and crossed over into the other lane. The bike hit an oncoming car, throwing the cyclist off the bike and sending him into a coma. The motorcycle was severely damaged and crashed into the thick grass before stopping. 

Ambulancemen rushed to give first aid to the motorcyclist, and owing to his serious injuries, he was sent directly to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kowloon for emergency treatment. After treatment, the motorcyclist regained consciousness. The police said that the 29-year-old male motorcyclist had injuries to his neck, back and feet. The 38-year-old private car driver was unhurt. The Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
