Sai Kung entrepreneurs open Memphis-themed restaurant Graceland in Mong Kok

Graceland, an elegantly named new restaurant set up by three Sai Kung entrepreneurs, opened in Mongkok early this month. Co-owner Niko Smirnoff  said it is Memphis, Tennessee, themed with “a playful bar menu and Southern soul food like chicken and waffles”. The only vinyl spinning jukebox in Hong Kong defines the decor and atmosphere as it belts out old favourites such as “16 Tons” by Tennessee Ernie Ford. Niko’s partners in the business are Courtney Horwood and William Lam.

The trio also own Momentai and Joe-San, the western restaurants with one of the finest locations on the south China coast overlooking the sea on Sai Kung waterfront. Currently the two restaurants totaling 6000 sq ft are closed as the tenants wait to hear whether the Government will renew their leases. As tenants are awarded points for good performance, Niko, Courtney and William are expected to win new leases.
