Swimming pool, tennis courts and other recreational facilities proposed for Nam Pin Wai

The entrance to the site on Wo Mei Hung Min Road

According to an application made to the Town Planning Board, a developer consortium has applied for the construction of an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, playgrounds for children and pets, and a hobby farm for three Green Belt sites in Nam Pin Wai, Sai Kung near the planned residential development behind the Pat Chun Food and Soy Factory.

The planned recreational development

The application sites are located near Wo Mei Hung Min Road and the Pat Chun Factory, covering an area of about 43,000 square feet. The sites will be filled and excavated to match the adjacent residential development project. The applicant points out that the above-mentioned land is currently unused and has a small number of trees. Currently the site is poorly managed, and the environmental conditions are not ideal, making it difficult to be classified as “green belt”.

The three sites in the application

The adjacent “Residential (Type C)” development project and the connecting road have been approved and are under construction. The applicant hopes to take this opportunity to benefit the community by enhancing the ecological environment with a landscaped amenity providing well-managed recreational space.
