Rash overtaking on Tai Au Mun Road causes three-car accident (video)

A three-vehicle collision occurred on the afternoon of 16 May on Tai Au Mun Road, Clear Water Bay, Sai Kung. Dashcam video at the time of the incident has been posted online showing a Toyota car driving along the road, followed by a BMW trying to get overtake. The BMW, approaching at high speed, collided with the Toyota, then lost control bounced off the ground hitting another car in front. Finally the right rear wheel of the BMW flew off and stopped. Fortunately, there were no casualties in the incident, and the police classified the case as a “traffic accident with no injuries”.

The video involved in the incident is nearly 30 seconds long. As soon as the clip begins, the Toyota and BMW follow the Tai Au Mun Road in Clear Water Bay, and there are double white lines in the middle of the road. When the two cars passed the double white line, the BMW behind suddenly accelerated from the rear and cut into the right line to climb the head. At this time, Toyota also happened to cut to the right lane, and the two vehicles collided with each other. Then the BMW lost control, the car on the left bounced off the ground and continued to rush forward, during which there was a sound of tyres, and it hit another private car in front.

In the following clip, a flying wheel slowly rolled towards the front of the Toyota, and the driver of the Toyota also got out of the car to check the accident. When the camera of the car cam was turned, the right rear wheel of the BMW was seen flying off and stopped in the middle of the road.
