On the evening of 15 June, a passer-by on Clear Water Bay Road near Silverstrand Mart found the corpses of three small wild boars lying on the side of the road. They alerted the police. When the officers arrived at the scene to investigate, the three wild boars had been moved onto the pavement by passers-by. There was blood on their mouths. Initially, it could not be ruled out that they had been hit and killed by a car.

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals sent an inspector to assist, and after preliminary investigation by the police, no animal cruelty was found. The wild boar carcasses were sent to the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department for investigation.
