The Michelin starred seafood restaurant Loaf On (六福菜館) at 49 Market Street, Sai Kung was vandalised by gangsters for the second consecutive day. When staff arrived just after 8:00 am this morning (30/8) they found that the door was covered with red oil paint, and the signboard with gold letters on a black background was also damaged; CCTV showed that someone committed the crime at around 6:00 am in the morning, so the police were called.
Yesterday the restaurant was also sprayed with black oil paint by vandals with a water gun around 5:00 am according to CCTV. The damage today is much more serious.
Since 2010, the restaurant has been awarded the prestigious Michelin star for 12 consecutive years. The restaurant is three storeys high, and it specialises in seafood dishes. It also has signature dishes such as honey chicken wings, crispy sand chicken, and crispy tofu with salt and pepper.
According to sources, after investigation, the police suspected that the three restaurant staff involved were heavily in debt due to excessive consumption or excessive gambling, and the restaurant was sprayed with paint to collect debts.
