Two people evacuated after fire in Yung Shue O village house

Two people were evacuated from a house in Yung Shue O Village, Sai Kung yesterday (20/10) when a fire broke out in an adjoining stone house.

Around 12:20 pm a fire broke out in a stone house next to a detached house at 300 Yung Shue O Village, Sai Kung, and an explosion was heard by some villagers. Firefighters arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire around half an hour later.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in about 30 minutes

According to the firefighters’ investigation, it is believed that the fire was caused by a short-circuit in the electric box, and no foul play is suspected.

During the incident, the fire spread to a car parked nearby, burning the front and headlights. CLP personnel also attended the scene to learn about the incident.

The resident’s car was damaged in the explosion and moved away from the scene by the firefighters
