The taxi involved in the accident being inspected by police
Around 11:00 am this morning (9/1), a middle-aged man was crossing Hiram’s Highway outside Heung Chung Village, Sai Kung. A taxi approaching from the direction of Nan Wai was suspected of having failed to brake and crashed into the pedestrian crossing the road.
The victim was thrown about five metres and fell to the ground with his mouth and nose bleeding, and he was unconscious for a while.
The left side of the windscreen was broken
When the ambulance crew arrived at the scene, the victim had regained consciousness and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
The left side of the windscreen of the taxi was broken and there were blood stains on the ground.
