Van and lorry collide on Hiram’s Highway, Sai Kung; van driver hospitalised

This morning (9/7), at the start of rush hour, two vehicles collided on Hiram’s Highway, Sai Kung, near Tai Hung Chau Village. The van driver was taken to hospital by a medical services team.

The traffic accident occurred around 7:10 am when a heavy truck and a light van collided on the Hiram’s Highway near Ta Ho Tun Road. The female van driver was trapped in the car for a time. She was rescued by the fire department and regained consciousness. An ambulance took her to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment.

The Transport Department stated that due to a traffic accident, the only lane of Hiram’s Highway (bound to Sai Kung) near Hoi Tung Road was closed with the one-lane, two-way traffic arrangement cancelled at 8:45 am.
