Two injured after motorbike collides with Tesla car in Sai Kung Photos: Online/social media
Early evening yesterday (16/8) a Tesla car and a motorcycle collided on the Hiram’s Highway near Sun On Tsuen. The 56-year-old motorbike rider suffered neck and waist injuries; his 50-year-old female passenger, had abrasions on her limbs and lower back pain. Both were conscious and sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment by ambulance.
The Tesla was being driven along Hiram’s Highway towards Sai Kung town centre, and when it was close to Sun On Tsuen a motorcycle happened turned into the opposite lane. The motorcycle was unable to stop in time and collided with the car, causing it to flip over on its back. The 48-year-old car driver was not injured and stayed at the scene to assist in the investigation.
Photos from the scene show two injured people lying in the middle of the road. Part of the motorcycle’s body-shell was thrown off. Traffic was affected by the accident, with a one-lane, two-way traffic system implemented near Po Lo Che resulting in traffic congestion at the site.
