Sai Kung Kaito ferry ceases operation from Wong Shek Pier to Wan Tsai (Nam Fung Wan)/Chek Keng on 13 October

The passenger ferry to and from Wong Shek Pier to Wan Tsai (Nam Fung Man)/Chek Keng in Sai Kung will cease operation on the 13 November. In the future, hikers, picnickers and tourist’s will have to take private charter boats or walk to Nan Fung Wan.

At present, many tourists take buses to Wong Shek Pier and then the kaito to Nan Fung Bay/Wan Tsai. According to the Transport Department, the kaito only provides services on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. There are five sailings and costs $18.

The operator Tsui Wah Shipping recently posted a notice stating that the kaito route from Wong Shek Pier to Wan Chai (Nam Fung Wan)/Chek Keng the last day of operation will be13 October.

Nam Fung Bay in Wan Tsai is a popular outing resort with nature trails and camping grounds. Many people enjoy water sports such as canoes and stand-up boards near the sea. Chek Keng is a popular hiking trail and can be reached on foot via Pak Tam Au.
