Butcher King closes today (9/1) after 33 years, owner Timothy Ng told Buzz ruefully. Asked if the reason was rising competition, Timothy said, “No, 70 per cent of my customers have moved away.”

Asked what he’ll do now, Tim, who lives above McDonald’s, said “I’ll work part-time at Fusion.”
The “American-Australian Meat Company”, a translation of the Chinese name for the business, is now the fourth speciality butcher shop to close in Sai Kung during the past year, and has been around longer than the others.
