Around 5:30 pm yesterday afternoon (31/3), a taxi which was turning right from Chan Man Street into Fuk Man Road, Sai Kung hit a 65-year-old man who was crossing the road. The victim, suffered dizziness and back pain, but fortunately he was still conscious and was sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
BUZZ reader Jan van den Berg, who crossed the road a few moments before, said that the injured person was lying in the middle of the road in front of the taxi, with someone helping him and making a phone call.

The 57-year-old male driver was present to assist in the investigation. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
The unmarked crossing has slopes either side of the road to assist crossing and is regularly used by pedestrians walking from the police station bus stop as well as from the car parks in the area. Citizens have been lobbying for some years to have markings or signs posted as it is not a safe place to cross, but to no avail.
