A fund-raising concert will be staged by Haven of Hope Christian Service on 20 April at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. HOHCS has been operating in Sai Kung since the 1950s. Now its main operations in the district are a hospice* at Tseung Kwan O and an elderly home and day care centre** at Ho Chung near the roundabout. Two vocalists and four choirs will perform “Faure’s Requiem, which serves as mass for the deceased and a heartfelt tribute to those who touched our lives. . . .It symbolises the resurrection of Christ.”

* We visited a friend, Nic, dying of brain cancer there. It is an admirable hospice with caring staff, all Christian to their finger tips.
