KMB strengthens services on five routes to assist tourists going to Sai Kung Country Park

In view of the upcoming May Day Golden Week, KMB announced on yesterday (24/4) that it will strengthen services on five tourist routes this weekend (26/4) and during the May Day Golden Week, with the most frequent service every 15 minutes, to facilitate citizens from various districts to reach Pak Tam Chung, Pak Tam Au and Wong Shek Pier. Hikers heading to the East Dam of High Island Reservoir can take the five KMB routes, get off at Pak Tam Chung or Sheung Yiu Station, and then walk or take other means of transportation.

Four of the routes run directly from Shatin, Tai Po, Tsuen Wan and Diamond Hill to Pak Tam Chung, all of which are in service on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays; the remaining route 94 connects Sai Kung and Wong Shek Pier and is a daily service.

Route 289R Shatin to Wong Shek Pier will run every 15 minutes. It departs from Shatin and reaches Pak Tam Chung in about 40 minutes.

Route 74R from Tai Po (Tai Wo) to Pak Tam Chung will allow free transfer to Route 94, 96R or 289R at Pak Tam Chung to Pak Tam Au and Wong Shek Pier.

Route 33R from Tsuen Wan (Discovery Park) to Pak Tam Chung will also off free transfer to routes 94, 96R or 289R at Pak Tam Chung to go to Pak Tam Au and Wong Shek

Route 96R from Diamond Hill Station to Wong Shek Pier will have more frequent service every 20 minutes. KMB said that it will increase the frequency of services on routes 33R and 74R to a maximum of 20 minutes in response to passenger demand.
