Smuggled Pakistani II calls police from Long Ke, Sai Kung saying he was lost; three companions being sought

At around 5:00 am yesterday morning (6/5), a Pakistani man reported to the police that he was lost near Long Ke, Sai Kung. Officers searched the scene and found the male victim at Swallow Cave between Long Ke and Tai Long Sai Wan. He was rescued by helicopter and sent to Sai Kung East Marine Police Base.

The man, aged 30, was not injured and failed to produce a valid identification document. He was arrested on suspicion of staying in Hong Kong without the authorization of the Director of Immigration. He is currently being detained for investigation and is being followed up by the Immigration Department.

It is reported that the man told police that he had been smuggled into Hong Kong by boat from the mainland. A total of four people in his group landed on the beach, while the rest of his companions are missing. The police are tracking down the whereabouts of the remaining IIs.
