Solemar Villas, Clear Water Bay, Sai Kung
Around 10:30 am this morning (26/7), police received a report that a beachfront house at Solemar Villas, 15 Silver Cape Road, Clear Water Bay had signs of ransacking and was suspected of being burgled. When the police arrived at the scene to investigate, they found that another house had also been ransacked.
After an initial investigation by the police, it is thought that the burglar sneaked into the housing estate from the beach and into the houses through the rooftops.
The case was classified as “burglary” and the owner’s losses are yet to be counted. It is reported that a French family of four lives in the house; they left Hong Kong for a trip the day on 24 July, and there was only the maid at home. According to the maid, she did not notice anything unusual before 9:00 pm last night (25/7). When she got up this morning, she found that the whole house was in a mess, and she suspected that thieves had broken into the house, so alerted security.
