A yacht caught fire in Sai Kung around 8:16 p.m. today (28/12). It was reported on social media that a yacht moored near the shore opposite Man Nin Street caught fire. Firefighters responded to the call and used two hoses to extinguish the fire. The fire was largely extinguished at 8:44 p.m., and water was sprayed to cool the area.
Video footage shows the fire was extremely intense, with flames and black smoke billowing into the sky; firefighters were seen climbing over railings on the shore to extinguish the blaze. Police and firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire.
