A traffic accident occurred in Clearwater Bay, Sai Kung around 8:20 am this morning (12/7) when two cars travelling along Tai Au Mun Bay Road crashed head-on near Clearwater Bay Beach.
While approaching a bend opposite the beach, one car overran the centre line whilst going down the hill and collided head-on with a car travelling uphill. The fronts of both cars were completely wrecked.
Two drivers and two passengers were injured in the accident, with two reportedly trapped in one of the vehicles. Rescue workers arrived at the scene and rescued the injured. All four injured individuals remained conscious and were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment.
Due to the accident, both directions of traffic at the location were closed, and police are investigating the cause of the accident.
