Serial entrepreneur James Bradshaw (Wine Rack, Casa, Cena etc) has launched a new venture, along with partner James Trower (founder of Destiny Church Sai Kung), to bring high quality meat to Hong Kong residents at very competitive prices. Based above Casa in the centre of Sai Kung, Moola Meat aims to sell good quality meat at a reasonable price.
The shop is entirely online, but members (not customers as both James emphasised!) can either have their orders delivered, by SF Express courier, usually within 24 hours of ordering for deliveries with 10km of Sai Kung – 48 hours maximum even to outlying islands. Members local to Sai Kung can also collect their orders from Casa on weekdays.
According to the web site “Moola Meat is on a mission to make meat, fish and seafood far more affordable for individuals and families in Hong Kong. We are able to keep costs very low through our unique model and no frills approach. That way you have access to premium meat at unbelievable prices right to your door.” Delivery charges are free for orders over $600, while new customers get free delivery for orders over $350.
As James Bradshaw told BUZZ, “We can deliver 100% grass fed New Zealand beef for around 40-50% cheaper than other suppliers, including the big supermarket chains”. Future plans include dropping the minimum order to $299, and introducing discounts for orders over $600.
Casa itself is helping in the promotion of the new company. It’s lunchtime menu now includes dishes made with Moola Meat products and currently there’s a $20 off each bill between 12:00-3:00 pm.
