Champion Andrew Wong Kee to launch new martial arts courses at Sai Kung gym

Martial arts champion Andrew Wong Kee is launching new kids’ Brazilian jujitsu (bjj) classes and adult fitness-martial arts classes in Sai Kung from 13 August. Andrew will be lead instructor himself and you can see the schedule and rates at www.awkcoaching.com. The New Zealander’s gym is in the  centre of town above Poet’s opposite The Picture House.

Hong Kong’s international bjj competition is due in October so Andrew will be training kids at his gym for this event. Children aged 4 to 15 will be competing in the COPA DE HK JUNIOR tournament on Sunday 18 October at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium.

Andrew comes from a fighting family. “I have just returned from the Commonwealth Games where my niece won a bronze medal in boxing  representing Fiji and my other niece competed in weight-lifting for Samoa at 17 years of age.” A native of Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, Andrew is a NZ karate champion, NZ boxing champion and world jujitsu champion, a title he won in Abu Dhabi. If you want your child to learn self-defence, send him or her to Andrew’s Sai Kung Pythons gym. He trained Brindy Mason and Edward Pinchbeck who went on to win medals in international jujitsu tournaments.
