Runners who would like to compete in the 9 Dragons Races starting 27 February 2027 may now register. There’s a 50-mile run over the ridgelines of Hong Kong, a 50 km version, a 25 km one and a kiddies race of 4 km. The events, all starting and finishing at Shing Fung Studios, Ho Chung, Sai Kung, are organised by RaceBace which charges $375 to $2000 for solo adult runners.
The reigning men’s champion is Magar Man Kumar Roka, who did the main course in 16 hrs 54 mins; the women’s champion is Yumi Yoshizumi, who took 19 hrs 18 mins. You can run solo or as a team of four.
RaceBace, co-founded by the late Nic Tinworth who succumbed to brain cancer, has been organising ultra-distance runs since 2014.
