This morning (19/12) a house in Ryan Court, Hang Hau Wing Lung Road, Clear Water Bay was broken into and $320,000 in jewellery and cash stolen.
The incident occurred at 2:24 am at a detached house in Ryan Court. The female resident told police that she was awakened by sounds in the middle of the night, so she left her bedroom to check, and was surprised to see someone in the house. They ran away and she called the police. The officers arrived at the scene hoping to intercept the thief in the vicinity, but to found no-one. The burglar was suspected of climbing through a window.
The victim initially estimated she had lost a jewellery box with contents valued around $300,000 and about HK$15,000 in cash. Police referred the case to the Tseung Kwan O Police District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up.
