Two burglaries occurred in Sai Kung last night (23/9) at around 10:00 pm. Police received a report from a 62-year-old woman who found signs of ransacking in her village house on Sai Sha Road, suspecting a burglary. During the investigation, a 70-year-old man also discovered that his village house nearby had been burgled.
A preliminary inventory revealed that approximately HK$200,000 worth of valuables were missing from the woman’s residence, including four watches, namely Cartier, Omega and Longines, jewellery including a necklace and a ring, and foreign currency in US dollars and euros.
The man’s losses are still being assessed. Following a preliminary investigation, the police have classified the case as a “serial burglary” and handed it over to the 8th team of the Wong Tai Sin Police District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up. No arrests have been made so far.
