The Transport and Logistics Bureau has announced that the repair work on the slope on Clear Water Bay Road near Wing Lung Road in Hang Hau that collapsed earlier due to heavy rainstorms has been completed.

The bureau posted on its social networking page that heavy rainstorms on 4 May caused flooding and landslides in areas such as Sai Kung and Tseung Kwan O. The entire emergency slope repair and related works were completed on 11 May.

The bureau said that the Highways Department has been following the guidelines of the Geotechnical Engineering Office and regularly conducts routine maintenance inspections and maintenance work on its roadside slopes. For slopes where landslides have led to road closures, including the Clear Water Bay Road slope, the Highways Department has arranged additional engineer inspections in accordance with the Geotechnical Engineering Office’s recommendations to ensure the stability of the slopes.
