Cheung Ang Siew-mei, who lives at Ho Chung, heads Christian Action. It has two main operations: services for migrant workers who get into difficulty in Hong Kong (counseling, paralegal help with Government, hostel stay) and services for orphaned and poor children at Qinghai on the Tibetan plateau (hostel, education, medical care).
On March 17 a large slice of the great and good of Hong Kong’s charity scene will be present. DJ and actor Sammy Leung will attend as “Caring Ambassador”. Artist Jeanie Leung will be “Caring Illustrator”. Clowns will be falling about and children, many disabled, will be playing games.
Events include:

  • “Qinghai Children’s Life Journey”, a programme highlighting the challenges of disabled youngsters.
  • Football training by Hong Kong’s Chelsea FC Soccer School.
  • Three-legged fun racing.
  • Family carnival of assorted games and activities.
