Local media are reporting that at around 1:00 am this morning, a woman living in the village on Sharp Island, off Sai Kung, was suddenly awoken by an explosion. She went outside to investigate and found a nearby village house on fire. She called the fire brigade.
Emergency services, including fire, ambulance and marine police base arrived fro, the nearby base in Sai Kung. They called a fire boat from North Point Pier. After arriving it put out the fire with its jets. Currently, there are no reports of any casualties. The cause of the fire and explosion are being investigated.
