As part of the celebration of the Remembrance Day, Resurrection Church will be screening the movie “Christmas at the Royal Hotel”. The movie chronicles the story of a small group of individuals whose lives are caught up in the devastation and turmoil of the Japanese invasion of Hong Kong during the Second World War. The movie was written and directed by Craig McCourry. Craig told the Church that he is more than happy to come and show this movie for free because of the valuable input Bill Lake, one of the church members, gave in the production of this movie.
The screening of the movie will be on Saturday 10 November at 7:00 pm at the church in Pak Sha Wan. Craig McCourry will be present to introduce the movie and after the movie Craig and Bill Lake will have a question and answer session.

The screening of this film is free but there will be fund-raising for the Hong Kong ex-Servicemen Association. The Association was officially formed in 1997, once the Military Garrison ceased to exist, due to the hand-over of Hong Kong to China. It was the amalgamation of the Hong Kong Ex-Soldiers Association, The Naval Local Enlisted Personnel and The World War II Veterans Association. It was decided to bring everybody under one umbrella association and the HKESA was formed. They have a total of approximately 1,400 members in Hong Kong and many more in overseas Associations in the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.
