The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) announced today (20 December) that it has started providing real-time air temperatures from the Clear Water Bay automatic weather station.
The Clear Water Bay automatic weather station, located inside the Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club at Clear Water Bay Peninsula in Sai Kung District, provides real-time temperature data for organisers and participants of watersports, course training and competitions in the vicinity. It is also close to hiking and tourist hotspots such as Tung Lung Chau, Po Toi O and Clear Water Bay Country Park. Real-time temperature information enables members of the public to better comprehend the latest weather conditions in the region for planning their trips.
A spokesman for the Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club said, “We highly welcome and support the HKO in providing real-time temperature information of the Clear Water Bay automatic weather station, which is vital to members of the public, as well as organisers and players of a variety of activities and competitions.”
The Clear Water Bay automatic weather station provides the latest temperature readings round-the-clock. The public can access the information at the HKO’s “Regional Weather in Hong Kong” webpage (www.hko.gov.hk/wxinfo/ts/index.htm) and the mobile version webpage (m.hko.gov.hk/wxreport/region.htm).
