Two race events are taking place in Sai Kung Country Park this weekend. The first is the Hong Kong 100 trail race on Saturday 19 January, and the other is the China Coast Marathon taking place on Sunday 20 January. Both events start at Pak Tam Chung, with the Sunday event also finishing there.
On Saturday the section of Tai Mong Tsai Road between Pak Tam Road and the entrance of Pak Tam Chung Physically Handicapped and Able-bodied Site will be intermittently closed from 7:45 to 8:15 am. On Sunday the road will be closed intermittently during the day starting at 7:30 am from the barrier to the East Dam area.
Actual implementation of the traffic arrangement will be made by the Police depending on-site traffic conditions at the time. Affected motorists are advised to drive with utmost care. Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience in case of traffic congestion, observe the instruction given by the Police and watch out for the latest traffic news through the media.
The Hong Kong 100 trail race is 97.4 km long, and starts at Pak Tam Chung then to Sai Wan Shan>Sai Wan>Tai Wan>Nam She Au>To Kwa Peng>Wong Shek pie>Tai Tan>Hoi Ha>Pak Sha O>Yung Shue O> Kai Kung Shan>Ma On Shan>Gilwell>Beacon Hill>Tai Po Road>Shing Mun>Needle Hill>Grassy Hill finishing at Tai Mo Shan.
The China Coast Marathon and Half Marathon are 42.195 and 21.1 km long respectively. They also start and finish at Pak Tam Chung. The races take place on the service roads at High Island Reservoir.
