At the meeting of the Sai Kung District Council Traffic and Transport Committee held on 24 January a number of councillors, including Philip Li Ka-leung, Hiew Moo Siew and Yau Yuk-lun, raised the problems caused by the recent change in schedule of the No. 94 bus from Sai Kung to Wong Shek Pier on weekdays – see BUZZ story on 15 December 2018.
In reply the Transport Department (TD) said:
The amendments (to the schedule) are designed to meet the passenger demand on weekdays and holidays while taking care of the people who need to travel home at night. According to KMB’s customer status, the busiest load rate in the busiest hour on weekdays is about 76%, and they consider the service is still adequate for demand. However TD and KMB understand the residents’ demands and are studying the adjustments in particular on weekday morning and afternoon peak hours to meet the needs of passengers.
