The Ranch w/o Anthony

For all those pondering what’s happening at the old Anthony’s Ranch, S&H can now confirm that it will open sometime next month, probably towards the latter end, with a new name – The Ranch. Workers are currently busy pulling out the old kitchen and replacing it with two smaller ones, and opening up the front for a set of concertina doors. The menu is still being worked on.

Singaling…not Singalong!

The late lamented Firenze may be no more, but Sing, popular manager at Jaspas for more than 10 years, has taken over the premises and launched a new restaurant called Singaling – although at the time of reporting the old Firenze sign was still on the front of the venue. Unlike Firenze, but similar to the refurbished Ranch (see above), the front has been opened up and it is light and airy inside. S&H has not had the opportunity to sample the food offerings yet, but those who have report being delighted. The menu covers the usual wide range of international dishes you’d expect to see in a Sai Kung restaurant with a slant towards vegetarian, but with a limited beer/wine selection. S&H will exert themselves to review both here and The Ranch over the next few weeks and report back.

CENA…for how long?

IMG_20190625_161236Looks like CENA is getting a new menu, and maybe an old name. Rumour has it that a number of new items will be appearing on the CENA menu within the next couple of weeks, including some dishes and drinks that might appear familiar to those who knew the old CASA. And it may not stop there…..with a bunch of new bosses it may even resurrect the CASA name…let’s see.

Classified closing

classifiedClassified in Sai Kung will soon close, leaving the outlet in Kwun Tong the closest for regulars. The original Classified opened in Sheung Wan in 2006 and then spread to nine other locations around Hong Kong. S&H assumes it’s the dreaded curse of the landlord striking again, as the place in Sai Kung always seemed busy.
