Friday 13th looks like it will be a big day for protests – seven planned, so far

Here is this week’s update on planned protests in Hong Kong. It looks as though the Mid-Autumn Festival will be a major day for protests. Not all of these may take place, but those for the next seven days are fairly certain. Also, owing to the fluid nature of the protests, some other events may happen at short notice that are not included here.

12 September: 7:30 pm – 12:00 midnight. A Walk after Dinner to Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival at Chai Wan and Siu Sai Wan. Area near Soccer Pitch at Siu Sai Wan Promenade to Screening Venue at Chai Wan Park.

12 September: 9:30 – 11:00 pm. Chorus of Hongkongers – “Glory to Hong Kong”. Various shopping malls around Hong Kong.

13 September: 7:00 pm – 12:00 midnight. Sit-in Assembly at MTR Shopping Malls. Tsim Sha Tsui, Sha Tin, Kowloon Bay, Tseung Kwan O.
 
13 September: 7:00 – 10:00 pm. Lion Rock Way to celebrate mid-autumn. Hiking to the Lion Rock from different entrances such as Tai Wai, Lok Fu, Wong Tai Sin etc.
 

13 September: 7:00 – 11:00 pm. Mourning the Lost Ones on Mid-Autumn, Brothers and Sister Gathering. Lennon Wall at Admiralty.

13 September: 7:00 – 9:30 pm. The Hong Kong Way Special Edition – Mid-autumn celebration @ The Peak. The Peak, Hong Kong.

13 September: 7:30 – 11:30 pm. Outpost for United Nations International Day of Democracy – BE WATER Mid-Autumn Party. Parks/Playgrounds of different districtsTsuen Wan, Ching Yi, Tai Wo Hau

13 September: 8:00 pm – 12:00 midnight. Sham Shui Po Mid-Autumn Celebration. Sham Shui Po.

13 September: 9:00 pm – 12:00 midnight. Tai Po Laser Light Mid-Autumn Celebration. Area outside Yata at Tai Wo Road (Near Tai Po Police Station)

14 September: 1:00 pm –12:00  midnight. Airport Transportation Stress Test. HKIA

14 September: 2:30 pm. Tin Shui Wai Family Fun Tour. Tin Sau Road Park to Tin Shui Wai MTR Station.

14 September: 4:00 – 9:00 pm. Assembly of fairy lights – The Fireflies of Bauhinia Secondary Students Assembly. Temple Mall, Chuk On.

15 September: 3:00 – 9:00 pm. Civil Human Rights Front rally and march. East Point Road, Causeway Bay to Pedestrian area at Chater Road, Central. (Not authorised).

16 September: 12:00 noon. Non-cooperation movement at Revenue Tower. Wanchai Revenue Tower.

17 September: 9;00 – 10:00 pm. Northerner Chorus – “Glory to Hong Kong”. Landmark North, 39 Lung Sum Ave, Sheung Shui.

21 September: 1:00 pm onwards. Airport Transportation Stress Test. Hong Kong International Airport.

21 September: 2:00 – 7:00 pm. Re-liberating Tuen Mun Park. San Wo Lane → Tuen Mun Government Offices

21 September: 7:00 – 11:00 pm. Sit-in against Yeun Long terrorist attack. Yeun Long MTR station.

Note: The student strikes/demonstrations at secondary and tertiary education institutions which started on Monday 2 September will continue.
