Two minibuses collided on Hiram’s Highway near Pak Kong Road, Sai Kung on Saturday (21/12) afternoon. 12 women and 1 man were injured.
Police report that at 4:24 pm at the junction of Pak Kong Road and Hiram’s Highway, two minibuses were travelling along towards Kowloon, when the front minibus suddenly braked. The minibus following could not stop in time and rear-ended the one in front. Police suspect that the leading minibus stopped to avoid hitting a car.
The 62-year-old female driver of the first minibus injured her hand. In addition, a total of 12 passengers – 1 man and 11 women, aged between 33 and 68 -were all slightly injured. All the wounded were taken to Tseung Kwan O Hospital and United Hospital for treatment.
According to the Transport Department, due to the accident, one-lane two-way traffic was been implemented on Hiram’s Highway, and traffic congestion was severe all round Sai Kung for some hours.
