A 73-year-old man is suspected to have fallen while cleaning the roof of a village house in Wat Sum Village, Mong Kung Uk Road, Clear Water Bay, Sai Kung last night.
Police received a report from the villagers at 9:21 pm (7/5), stating that the victim was found lying on the grass opposite a village house and suspected of having fallen from the roof.
The police arrived and the victim was certified dead on the spot. Initial investigations suggest that he had stumbled and fallen accidentally during cleaning of the rooftop. The incident was not suspicious and the cause of death will be determined after an autopsy.
The village house is three storeys high, and neighbours said that the male owner was the original resident and one of the owners. The rooftop and the second floor was the victim’s residence, and the ground floor and the first floor are rented.
